Even if it doesn’t involve an over-the-edge, thrilling and dangerous activity, travelling has not only become a getaway from one’s mundane lifestyle but has also emerged as an ultimate way to unwind and rejuvenate yourself to get back to life with a BANG!
Unfortunately, even when travel involves thrill seeking activities, travel insurance is something many don’t consider, possibly because we all tend to think that those freak accidents happen to other people, not us, right?

As medical cost (even for the common cold) can run into hundreds of dollars in the US, it is recommended that you get good medical insurance, before your trip. Good thing is that if you buy it online before your trip, it may be cheaper.
Are Adventure Sports Covered by Travel Insurance?
You should know that travel insurance doesn’t cover for injuries from certain adventure sports, such as paragliding, mountain climbing, bungee jumping and white water rafting.
You’ll need to buy adventure insurance for this purpose, if an adventure trip is on the cards. However, given the risk involved in such a trip, the cost of these policies are usually high.

Families visiting a country, particularly for leisure, are more than likely to visit famous theme parks in that courtiers for a unique experience. You should know that travel insurance pays for any prepaid, non-refundable expenses. Since payments like event tickets and tickets to theme parks are paid for in advance in most cases, these costs are compensated for too, if required.

Regular flu isn’t usually covered if occurs in a foreign land. However, when you’re seriously ill with a cold or flu, such that you can’t travel and need to cancel your trip, you can get trip cancellation and interruption insurance benefits.
Which diseases are not covered by travel insurance?
Usually any pre-existing disease is not covered by travel insurance. However, there are many insurance companies that provide coverage of a pre-existing medical condition, provided your condition is “stable.”
Moreover, travel insurance will not offer coverage for emergencies due to emotional and mental illnesses.
