U.S.A to Suspend Immigration Temporarily

Last Updated On: April 21, 2020

According to an official Tweet from U.S President Donald Trump, U.S will be suspending all immigration temporarily.

In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!

What this might mean is that no new H1B, L1 type visas will be issued. However, there is no clarity on if any visas are excluded from the suspension.

The suspension is not currently active and shall await the executive order to be signed. We do not have any inputs on when it’s going to be signed

This decision was taken most likely due to the worrying trends in unemployment in US, due to the Corona Virus pandemic.

As of now, there are no official updates from U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services. Their in-person services & offices are closed until May 3rd. (Source)
